About Us

We both grew up in Rutherford County, North Carolina, but although we went to the same middle school, we really didn't get to know one another until high school. We both volunteered at a summer camp for special needs children where we socialized more than volunteered! This is where the interest in one another began, and we had our first date together when we were 16! We were junior year prom dates as well, but the relationship turned more into a deep friendship.

Throughout the remainder of high school, we would hang out regularly within our close group of friends. Our friendship stayed strong even through college. Preston attended Montreat College where he played baseball for two years, and I went attended Western Carolina University only a couple hours away. We visited one another periodically as friends at each other's campuses. Preston eventually transferred to UNC Charlotte for three more years. There he made great friends that have now become our close friends to this day!

After college Preston moved to Atlanta, Georgia to work in athletics with Georgia Tech. I moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina to room with my best friend Jenna and work as a nurse at UNC Hospital. Eventually I decided to attend graduate school towards a nurse practitioner degree and attended UNC for three years.

During my last year of graduate school I had to decide if I wanted to relocate for a job. I was considering moving to D.C even for graduate school, so I thought maybe I would venture north. Coincidentally, Preston had just moved to Maryland to work for UMD Atheletics. A few of our friends made a couple of trips with me to the D.C area where Preston showed us the city. Long story short, we eventally picked up our friendship which led towards our relationship. So of course, I picked up and moved to Maryland as soon as I graduated.

We have lived in Rockville, Maryland with our dog, Ella, now for two years, seven miles outside of D.C. We love the city but miss the south. We have a great circle of friends from high school, college, and Maryland that we are still close with and can't wait to share our big day with! We share the same interest in traveling which is why we are so excited for a destination wedding!
